The start of two long weeks !!

Colm and Jim have packed their bags and headed off into the sunset for two weeks so I'll be sitting in their seat covering for the next while.

That means 5am starts every morning while the rest of you snooze your way through lots of ZZZZZzzzzzz's!

It's a hard show to cover and lots of the usual stuff will be packed away with the lads for the hols including The Word which will go up by €50 each day even though the lads are off. I've got the new Blizzards tune as my pick of the week, I'll be playing battle of the 90s every morning and playing the winning song about 9.30. I also have a set of tickets to the Dubs game at Croker to giveaway every morning and a cool prize of a weekend stay in a slick hotel and dinner and body treatments thrown in.. more details on the show. If you're crazy enough to be up at 6.30 I'll have the extra 3 minutes in bed each morning too and not forgetting you lot.. I'll be asking for you to text in on our topic of the day and everyone who sends us something during the week goes into the draw for the prizes I've mentioned above.

Now, where can I find about five alarm clocks to make sure I wake up!!!

Want to be a kid again?

Remember being a kid and asking your mam or dad to get you a certain type of cereal just cause there was a toy in it? Well yesterday I did that! Except it was my girlfriend I had to ask. I wanted Coco Pops but we brokered a deal when I saw one of these bad boys on the box!

Imagine my joy when at 5.30 this morning I opened the new box of Cheerios to find the toy car sitting at the top of the box..(no really!). On a seperate note, I can't wait to see the film either ;-)

I hope the day gets better..

First off the iron attacked me this morning and left a nasty burn mark on the inside of my arm..

Then I decided to put on suncream as I'll be working outdoors for a bit today. Now what possessed Nivea to add shimmer/glitter stuff to their suncream I don't know but my steering wheel is destroyed, my clothes have gold stuff on them and my arms hands and face look quite strange. I'm not too far off Robin Williams this morning.




















On a seperate note, I went to see The Breakup last night in Vue cinema (what was wrong with Ster Century by the way lads!?). It's not a bad film and I would say go and see it - there's some funny bits and you do get to see Jennifer Aniston's bum albeit quite a blurry shot! The ending is very much a 'make way for The Breakup 2' which I'm not sure I like - I think it makes you want more from it but not in a "god I can't wait to see the next one" kind of way.

This weekend...

I've lots of copies of Summer Holiday Hits to give away this weekend.. There's 65 songs on it!!

Really are some great summer songs on it, I'm listening to the 3rd CD in the set at the moment in the office and China Black - Searching is blaring out.. I'd say the newsroom are going to start moaning soon ;-)

The morning after...

We were at the races last night.

I had two good tips and bagged myself €250 somehow...(thanks Edwina!).

You could be forgiven for thinking that all we do is drink but it's not true.

Just to let you know what's happening this weekend on my show...

I've got tickets to go see Bell x1 live at The Point Dec 1st AND copies of their current album Flock. By the way, tickets go on sale at 9am in the morning.. (Friday 14th).



On Sunday I'll be live on the Roadhog between 2-6pm in Dromcondra giving the Boys in Blue our support at Croke Park!

We were out in Clontarf earlier talking to people for the 'Face to Face' feature on FM104.

Just been in talking to Jeremy from the Phoneshow, he's wearing his favourite shoes today... Dubes!!!

Not much else happening today, it's a pretty quiet one in here.

If anyone needs money, I'll be doing my regular pub quiz in McSorleys in Ranelagh tonight from 9.30. The jackpot is a pretty nice €800.. might see you there!!

I ventured about 2 mins from the Roadhog due to the bad weather, went into the VIP area (God bless my broadcast arm band which nobody seems to question!) had a look around and went back into the warm, dry studio...

Saturday afternoon !!

Well the weekend is here finally.. and the weather is not bad!

Here's my view from the studio today... that's about as much of the sun as I'm going to get to enjoy today while I'm playing songs for you lot!! It's probably a good thing however as hayfever has me sniffling all day today :-)
